Ondernemen Zonder Grenzen businessplan competition: the finals

Ondernemen Zonder Grenzen businessplan competition: the finals

On November 28 the finals of our Ondernemen Zonder Grenzen competition took place during the Make It Happen event in Amsterdam. The Ondernemen Zonder Grenzen businessplan competition was organized in collaboration with NCDO and sponsored by De InvesteerdersclubErnst & Young, and NUZakelijk. The competition was aimed at Dutch entrepreneurs with ambitious border-crossing business plans.

We were happy to see the event attracted a lot of visitors, including investors, coaches, media and even more entrepreneurs. The thirteen Ondernemen Zonder Grenzen finalists got to pitch their business plans for the public, and the five best finalists also pitched for De Investeerdersclub to get in the race for investment to the value of € 100,000. Each entrepreneur had 90 seconds to present his or her business and impress the public. Afterwards the public got the chance to vote for their favourite business plan, which would be announced during the award ceremony later on.

After the pitching rounds ended everyone got together for an interesting and at the same time funny talk by Ikenna Azuike, founder of What’s Up Africa and Strawberry Earth. Azuike told the audience: “You are a new generation of entrepreneurs. Lead by example and start the revolution.” The day continued with a networking game in which everyone actively and enthusiastically participated, feeling inspired by Azuike’s words.

Finally, it was time for the most important part of the program: the award ceremony. First the winners of De Partnership Verkiezing were announced and after that it was time for the finalists of the Ondernemen Zonder Grenzen competition! Congratulations to all the thirteen finalists and special congratulations to the winning entrepreneurs:

– African Clean EnergyRural SparkENEWAAfrica Sustainable Aquaculture and Jiro-Ve for getting the chance to win € 100.000,- investment provided by de De Investeerders Club
– Jiro-Ve for winning EY coaching to the value of € 2.500,-
– Martono & Company for getting media exposure on NUzakelijk.nl by winning the public vote.

The day ended with drinks and more networking opportunities. We look back at a successful day with a lot of inspiring pitches, presentations and meetings.
