I graduated in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Amsterdam.
After my graduation and and having set up a Internet company in 1999, I got more interested in human behaviour, and took a course in international management (European Postgraduate Course for Environmental Management - EPCEM).
Here I met John van Duursen, and after a field research project in Ghana, together we founded the business consulting company Fair Ventures in 2003. In cooperation with Thierry Sanders from NCDO, we subsequently founded the BiD Challenge and this website in 2004.
Currently I'm living and working in Latin America (based in Bs Aires), from where I manage the Latin America region for BiD Network Foundation. Together with local partner organizations, we have set-up national BiD Challenge competitions and investor matchmaking services in Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador, while exploring synergies between Europe and Latin-America, as well as within the region.
I'm always inspired to see entrepreneurs in different countries present themselves with enormous enthusiasm and continue to turn opportunities into thriving businesses.
