I am based in Nairobi and I have a demonstrated Venture Capital experience, acquired during 5 years in a starting Venture Capital Corporation based in Paris called XAnge.
In five years, I led XAnge’s investments in eight promising innovative SMEs, for a total amount of €16M. I was involved in over 20 investment negotiations. I studied over 100 deal opportunities from seed capital to expansion capital and recovery investment in Europe and the US. My core skills are on financial, strategic, technological and management issues.
I also drew on my strong analytical skills developed in a top French Engineering University (“Grandes Ecoles”) to ensure robustness of recommendation. I thus understood and managed financial, strategic, technological and management challenges faced in those deals.
Finally, I have work experience in Africa. I spent one year in Madagascar as an IT engineer on innovative and organisational projects in a 450 seats computer centre. Then, I am currently an entrepreneur in Nairobi, launching several projects, among others: East African launch of a global web site, already present in 50 countries, working as a marketplace for microjobs; start of a pilot for an NGO in the field of drink water provision to satisfy the needs of isolated communities; financial consultancy. This gives me an overview of current and coming East African market trends.
