Suriname Gourmet Farm was established on June, 21st 2005.
After winning BiDChallenge's first prize for the category Developing Countries Individual, the first oyster mushroom farm was settled in Suriname. First sales of straw and oyster mushrooms were achieved in 2006. Nowadays the mushroom farm is specialised in oyster mushrooms and concentrates on luxury Surinames restaurants and supermarkets. Rinette has working experiences with hydroponic tomatoes (drip irrigation), lettuce, cucumber and celery (NFT-Nutrient Film Technique).
