LIVELIHOOD NGO is a not-for-profit organisation, working for development with particular focus on children, women and the elderly in Cameroon, Africa.

Amongst our other field activities we are currently working with communities in a bit to reducing the incidence of water borne diseases and hence reducing the death rate of children from diarrhea and other related water borne diseases, through the promotion of household water treatment technologies and improved hygiene and sanitation practices. We look forward to progressively extending our activities throughout the country as the means become available.

We will like to collaborate with whoever (private, group, organisation, community etc) in order to raise financial support which can go to assist the training of communities and families in the production and installation of Bio-sand filters and also support the construction of hygienic V.I.P latrines to these needy homes. In the North West Region of Cameroon, about 500,000 households are desperately in need of clean water, with about 400000 children below the ages of 5years who at risk of being affected by diarrhea and other related water borne diseases . With a maximum of 60 US Dollars, one household can already have one bio-sand filter installed in it which will go a long way in saving the lives of children as they will have direct access to clean water in their homes.

The Following pictures show some different sources of water for household uses in the North West Region of Cameroon.
