After my studies in Communications at the University of Amsterdam, I’ve been working for NGOs (inter)nationally (Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, Moçambique, Indonesia). During my stay in several foreign countries it was very interesting working with people from different countries and with different cultural backgrounds.
I have experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects, the financial administration of projects, raising project funds and organizing trainings/events.
Besides my formal job I've been working as a volunteer and with volunteers for quiet some time. As a country coordinator at Amnesty International, I organized and coordinated activities on the Country Action Program of Colombia. In 2006, together with some friends, I started up a foundation ‘Cada Vida Cuenta’. The goal of our foundation is to promote cultural exchange between Dutch and Latin American youth and to improve their future perspectives on the educational/professional level. We organize informative and cultural activities in the Netherlands and we have a project in Colombia - coaching a group of teenagers in their professional career (www.elkleventelt.nl – in Dutch).
I've gained considerable language skills in Spanish and French during my stay in Costa Rica, Colombia and France.
