Arthur Arnold
Arthur Arnold has a longstanding reputation within the international financial sector. He has worked for the ABN AMRO Bank for almost 24 years, in several management positions in several countries. In 1992 he switched to the Rabobank Group. He served among other things as director of Investment Banking and chairman of the Board of Rabobank International. In 2000 Mr. Arnold became President and Chief Executive Officer of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), the trade and development organization of 40.000 financial cooperative societies with more than 123 million members in 84 countries. Since the first of January 2005 Mr Arnold has been Chief Executive Officer of FMO.
A healthy and well-functioning private sector is a prerequisite for poverty alleviation. The BiD Challenge therefore corresponds to the mission of FMO: to support the private sector in developing countries and emerging markets in order to contribute to the structural and sustainable economic growth in these countries, and, together with the private sector, obtain healthy returns.
For this reason FMO, as one of the 'main partners', and its employees support with gusto the BiD Challenge again this year.
