Wendy Mukuru
Acumen Fund, Kenya Portfolio Associate
As the Kenya portfolio associate, Wendy Mukuru has responsibility for identifying and conducting due diligence on organizations with proven or promising approaches to delivering critical goods and services in health, water, housing and energy sectors, at an affordable price; analyzing and structuring detailed investment documentation for Acumen’s Investment Committee and the Acumen Fund Board of Directors; providing strategic management support to investees to help them achieve their business plan objectives; working to build strategic alliances within the country to help meet Acumen Fund objectives
Prior to joining Acumen Fund, Wendy spent over seventeen years in a variety of positions within the financial services industry, most recently as Country Sales & Service Manager, Stanbic Kenya, where her responsibilities included defining and implementing country sales and service plans, developing expansion strategies on target markets, and building internal and external network with key stakeholders. Wendy also worked in Stanbic's Treasury and Corporate Banking Divisions dealing with Professional Relationship Management. Before joining Stanbic, Wendy worked for Standard Chartered Bank as a Treasury Specialist. She holds a B.Sc. Business Administration, Finance Option from California State University, Los Angeles.
