    On palm plantation

In 2000 I graduated with a Masters in Electrotechnical Engineering at the University of Gent in Belgium. From the beginning I wanted to use my technical knowledge in development cooperation.

After some work experience in the Belgian private sector, I decided to work for two years in Nicaragua as an advisor/trainer in a technical school. When I got back, I continued working in technical higher education, where I learnt about the possibilities of renewable energy. From then on, I only wanted one thing: implementing renewable energy systems in a sustainable development context.

Since October 2006 I got involved with FELISA where I became responsible for the financial management and the industrial operations of the company. Together with my colleagues Stefan De Keijser and Dr. Hongo, I co-wrote the FELISA expansion business plan for the BiD Challenge.
