Sustainable tourism development, and particularly the potential contribution of tourism to local development in developing countries, is one of my professional passions. I have published a number of articles on the subject, most in cooperation with dr. Rene van der Duim of Wageningen University. Together with Rene and other partners I have also carried out some very interesting tourism projects in amongst others Costa Rica and Bhutan.
