Reinout van Santen

I am a graduating cultural Anthropology student who is just starting as BID network assistent for fair ventures. During my study I focused on Religion, Islam and Islamic brotherhoods. I conducted research in France and Malaysia on neosufi brotherhoods in relation to the 'modern world' on which I am writing my thesis. In these last moths of my study I also focused on international development by taking the minor 'development studies' at UVA university.
The reason for my interest in develepment came during my fieldwork in Malaysia were I saw a lot of entrepeneurship in a business friendly climate. It made me realise that the stimulation of business and a business friendly climate can be of great importance for the developing countries. For this reason I applied for the job as BID network assistant for three months time in which I hope to learn a lot in practice.
