My involvement with internation development aid started when I was asked to join the board of the Kip Keino Children's Home Netherlands foundation. After a visit to Kenya to see first-hand what the result of our efforts was, I was struck by the entrepreneurial energy of the country.

Two years ago I helped Pepijn to write his entry for the BiD Challenge 2005. His entry, Fish Forward, later won the student prize.
