The Assessment Process
The Assessment Process – The evaluation of your business plan
The BiD Network and her National Partners assess business plans which are submitted on www.bidnetwork.org. The assessment enables us to determine the quality of plans received, in order to decide if they are eligible for matchmaking services with investors and/or participation in a business plan competition. To guarantee an objective assessment, all plans will be checked by at least two people. The assessment criteria BiD Network applies can be found at the bottom of this page.
The assessment process consists of three stages: application assessment (stage 1), business plan assessment (stage 2) and ‘BiD Grade’ plan assessment (stage 3). After every stage you will receive an email indicating the status of your plan, the next steps to follow and personalized professional feedback. We recommend you to use the feedback provided to improve your application and full business plan before submitting it for the next stage. When your plan is in one of the assessment stages, you cannot edit your plan. Upon approval for each stage, you become respectively eligible for coach matching, to participate in a competition or for Investor Matchmaking.
Pre-assessment: do you fit the criteria to submit a plan?
Before your plan enters the assessment process, BiD Network will check if your online application form fits the participation criteria. You will receive a confirmation from BiD Network about your participation.
Stage 1: application assessment
After you have received a confirmation that your application fits the BiD Network participation criteria, it will enter stage 1 of the assessment process. Your application will be evaluated on business viability.
If you indicated your need for a coach before having submitted your application, you will get the opportunity to get a coach from our coaching programme. As soon as your application is approved in stage 1 you can look for a coach online.
Stage 2: business plan assessment
After your application was approved in stage 1 and after having submitted a complete business and financial plan, your plan enters stage 2 of assessment. Your business plan will be evaluated on general viability. If a business plan competition is organized for your country or sector of business, you will be allowed to continue in the competition upon approval of your plan in stage 2.
Stage 3:BiD Grade plan assessment
If your business plan has been approved in stage 2 you can submit it for Investor Matchmaking. In stage 3 BiD Network will evaluate your business plan on investor readiness, meaning it has potential to get financed when presented to investors, funds, or loan institutions. Upon approval you will receive a message that your plan is allowed for BiD Investor Matchmaking.
If you receive a message with the notion that your plan is not accepted for a certain stage, we recommend you to improve your plan according to the feedback provided and resubmit it.
