GTZ
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development operating worldwide. Established in 1975, GTZ is organized as a private company owned by the German Federal Government. GTZ’s corporate identity is as a Partner for the Future, Worldwide. GTZ’s main client is the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). GTZ works in 126 countries with country offices in 67 of them and the Head Office is in Eschborn near Frankfurt in Germany.
India has been a priority partner country of German Development Cooperation for more than 40 years. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH – has been active in India on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for almost all of this period.
Subscribing to inclusive growth and sustainable development, GTZ teams with India, across 10 states of the country, in achieving its development goals. GTZ’s approach to technical cooperation is about forging global associations between seconded and national experts and Indian partners to provide holistic, interactive services oriented towards value-addition. GTZ’s main sectors are sustainable economic development, energy and environment. The German government is also committed to India’s public health priorities through the Health Sector Support (HSS) programme within the framework of the National Rural Health Mission.
