BiD Challenge Screeners

BiD Challenge screeners support BiD entrepreneurs with their expertise and help create opportunities in developing countries. They are professionals from our partners and individual professionals with expertise in the area of business plan assesment and developing countries.

All Round 1 business plans are assessed by screeners. Each plan is screened three times by separate professionals. Screeners give feedback to the participants: what are the strong and weak points of the business plan. The entire screening process takes place online.

Screener's profile:

  1. Experience with reading and assessing business proposals;
  2. Proven affinity with developing issues and developing countries;
  3. Specific sector or country expertise
  4. A personal or professional interest in SME development, private sector development and/or ‘Business in Development’.

Screeners are matched with business plans that fall within their field of expertise.

Screener's responsibilities:

  1. Each screener assesses a minimum of 15 Round 1 plans (of about 3 pages)
  2. All screeners need to sign a confidentiality agreement before they get access to the business plans.
  3. Each Dutch based screener attends one of the BiD Challenge screening instructions

What's in it for the screener?

  • Contribute directly and constructively to poverty reduction
  • Share your expertise for private sector development
  • Connect with projects that have your own personal/professional interest
  • Access to a big network on private sector development
  • Get inspired!
