It promotes the socioeconomic and sustanaible development linked environmental awareness through the production and commerce of crafts with contents oriented towards the conservation of endangered species from Cordillera Escalera in peruvian Amazonia.

The Business
Concept of the business: Crafts and souvenirs with ecological themes about endangered species from peruvian Amazonia and social value. Include environmental information, wood box and postcard, with high quality and price adequate.
ART TO PRESERVE have three lines of action will be taken to reinforce the above activities:
1. Production: Production of handicrafts, paintings and postcards. The main objective of this area is the self-management and labour generation by poor people as an alternative to high-ecological impact socio-economic activities. All the products will have motifs with Amazonian endangered animal species and geared towards the preservation of biodiversity.
2. Commerce: Implementation of commercial canals to sales of products

3. Ecological Awareness:
- Environmental themes in all products foucusing in endangered species from Conservation Area Cordillera Escalera.
- All crafts and souvenirs of the first production include themes about 12 endangered species from the Conservation Area Escalera Mountain from peruvian Amazonia: 1. Tremarctos Ornatus, 2. Panthera Onca, 3. Felis Pardalis, 4. Tapirus Terrestris, 5. Mazama americana, 6. Priodontes maximus, 7. Dinomys Branickii, 8. Potos Flavus, 9. Lagothirx flavicauda, 10. Rupicola peruviana, 11. Ara militaris, 12. Aulacoshynchus huallague).
- Additional ecological information about selected endangered species from peruvian Amazonia in all products.
- Percentage of the profits assigned to ecological activities.
- Promotion of environmental awareness and the development of low-ecological impact activities though exhibitions, conferences and workshops.
- Gallery of ART TO PRESERVE.
- Sustainable management of forestry resources: Collective agreement with native farmers with plantations of Bolaina (Guazuma crinita) trees..
- Promotion of environmental awareness activities and socioeconomic development strategies of low-ecological impact though talks, workshops, conferences, exhibitions and the implementation of “learning areas" as "Gallery of ART TO PRESERVATION".
The customers will be reached though the following strategies:
1. Local trade: Distribution, sales and promotion through central office, commercial allied linked to ecology and tourism (i.e. hotels, restaurants, tourist offices, etc.).
2. Stores: Sales though “programmed activities": Exhibits and sale through street modules. The five first modules will be installed in Lima city (3), Tarapoto (1) and Iquitos (1).
3. e-Trade: sales though web site and other websites linked to ecology, tourism and crafts.
COMPETITION:
- There´s not competing companies and institutions that offer the same or similar products.
- Actually there´s desorganized competing craftsmen and painters producing and selling similar products without added value and certification, in low production levels and low quality.
- The high quality, “aggregate intrinsic value", our ecological and social commitment do them better of others products which are limited to be only gifts, adormment or souvenirs.
- "ART TO PRESERVE products give the costumers the satisfaction of contributing to environmental care and socio-economic development to poor people purchasing high quality crafts and arts at an adequate price and with extra value above competitors".

The Entrepreneur & Management
- Experience of three years in production and commerce of crafts in local markets.
- Experience in Environmental Promotion.

- Experience in human resources management: Native communities, farmers, craftmen and young persons from San Martin.

Development
Immediate-Term: At least ten labour posts. With regard to Environment we will execute some promotion activities as the two first exhibitions about Amazonian Mammals endangered and Amazonian Birds endangered in 3 touristic cities from Peru.
Short-Term: We will generate at least twenty labour posts, specially to urban poor people local, to effort that will trained and develop productive tools and environmental awareness between them. To thrird year will be a self-management organization with opportunities for trade and export products and services to national and foreign markets, generating more labour posts and profits.
Large-Term: ART TO PRESERVE to ten years is a project self-management to hundred percent, with high impact in socio-economical development of communities, with youth artists and craftsmen of quality. The products and services had high level of trade and export to National and foreign markets. The training in economical activities alternative to high-ecological impact had been reduce the poverty and improved the environment significantly. Everybody feel satisfaction and pride of participate and to improve his live standards contributing to environmental care and Preservation of endangered species. The participants of the project are now aware about the richness and importance of environment and biodiversity and contributes with ecology though environmental promotion between sons, families, classmates and friends.
