Citi’s history in the Philippines dates back to 1902 when the International Banking Corporation established a branch in Manila, followed by another branch in Cebu in 1904.

Today, it is the largest foreign commercial bank in the Philippines in terms of customers, assets, revenues, employees and number of domestic branches. It consistently ranks among the top ten commercial banks in the country. Citi Philippines employs over 4,200 staff, 99% of whom are local residents.

It offers innovative end-to-end cash management solutions, trade finance and services, securities custodianship, corporate finance, investment banking and advisory services and the most comprehensive and sophisticated treasury products-fixed income, foreign exchange and derivatives.

The company has been involved in various corporate giving activities since becoming a member of PBSP in the 70’s, mostly on the filed of education, livelihood community development, microcredit, culture and arts, health, and social services. It has developed innovative campaigns to raise funds in support of the needs of the communities.

The company has worked with PBSP’s numerous projects like the Hillyland Reforestation Program, Ipo Watershed Project, and Marine Regeneration. Also, donated funds for the construction of the PBSP Head Office in Manila and various computer laboratories in different schools in the country and provided assistance to victims of typhoons and school building reconstructions.

The established project BLUE, and the Adopt-A-School program of Citi are both responding to the need for school buildings in the countryside.
