Mission and objectives

The BiD Challenge supports entrepreneurs in developing countries to create and expand their business. We believe that Small and Medium sized Entreprises (SMEs) are key to economic development and the improvement of living standards.

The BiD Challenge is an international business plan competition for starting ventures and established SME's in developing countries.

Since 2005, we received over 2000 proposals, supported a total of 180 entrepreneurs to write a complete business plan with a personal coach and awarded the best with prize money and active matchmaking to financiers. This resulted in the start-up of 20 businesses so far, and the creation of over 500 direct and indirect jobs. These numbers will double during 2007 as a spin off of our activities during 2006.

In Januari 2007 the BiD Network foundation was founded. The BiD Challenge is one of it's core activities.

By 2010, the BiD Network foundation aims to have BiD Challenges in 20 developing countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
