BiD Seminar: Heineken

The world around Heineken. The economic impact of Heineken in Sierra Leone quantified

Amsterdam, November 23rd, 2006

This seminar presents the results of an economic impact assessment model which was applied to Heineken's brewery in Sierra Leone. The outcomes of the model give insights into direct versus indirect employment. Show how an outside investment creates wealth among the poor and the rich alike. And show how economic activity spreads to different stakeholders in the economy. The model is generic and can be applied to other operating companies in the region.

This seminar offers you
- Insight into a company's impact on the local economy - the case of
Heineken in Sierra Leone
- How this approach and model can be used by your company
- How this model can steer management decisions
- An overview of differing approaches (by Oxfam-Novib & Unilever)
- A proposition on how to apply it to your locally operating companies

Target Audience
- Operating Companies
- Corporate Affairs, Communications & CSR professionals
- NGO's
- Government agencies and policy officers

Alvast bedankt,
Susan Schuren
