Interested in poverty alleviation and hard cash? This meeting will provide you with the answer how to achieve both.

The key is CSR... What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)? Why are companies in China concerned with CSR? How does it generate income? And are companies obliged to be socially responsible? These questions will be dealed with in Rotterdam.

Speakers are from:

  • The Ministry of Economic Affairs which stimulates sustainable economic growth in China.
  • Innovative research agency IVAM, affiliated to the University of Amsterdam, which developed a CSR toolkit for SME’s in China.
  • The Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) which supports the private sector in China with loans.
  • TNT which core business is managing transportation networks for providing delivery services and has an AIDS awareness program in China.

The meeting is interactive. Using the information provided by the speakers you discuss the questions above in groups and present your outcome at the end of the workshop.

The meeting will be held on the 18th of May from 14:45 untill 18:00 at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam building Woudestein room C-1.
