Sale of FairMail Cards spreads across Europe
After winning the BID Challenge in 2006 FairMail is rolling out its sales outlets in 2010 through distributors in the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium and Netherlands.
The first year after winning the first prize in 2006 where aimed at strengthening the base of the fair trade photographic greeting card concept and company. Year 2 and 3 where aimed at organic growth in the Dutch market and gaining experience and product feedback. With everything in place rapid international expansion of sales is taking place in 2010.
After a distributor and retail chain stocking the cards in the Netherlands, new distributors have been found and selling successfully in Germany, the United Kingdom and Belgium. Tot total amount of potential outlets through the distributors networks exceeding 2.000 shops in 4 countries
With contacts running in France and Australia the growth speed is scheduled to keep a similar pace for the coming years. A big success factor is that the fair trade pictures taken by FairMail's teenage photographers in Peru and India can easily be incorporated in tailor made designs and products per country. Allowing the product to be adapted to the taste of the local consumers. Also the young photographers are gaining experience into which type of images are being appreciated by customers in different countries.
2011 will hopefully be the year FairMail sales cross the Atlantic into the USA's and Canadian greeting card market.
