By expanding we will also be helping the farmers of Coast region in Tanzania to have a fair price and reduce poverty among the farmers .At present we are buying 100% of W320 cashew kernels from the small factory owned by farmers of coast region.

We here by submit this proposal for income generating activities & support to help members of Alpha Joy Association (AJA) to normalize themselves into society and be able to continue with life.

The proposal covers following thematic areas;

• Treatment, Care and Support for members
• Economic Empowerment for members

Alpha Joy’s mission is to improve, prolong and enhance lives of PLWH through economic empowerment (Income Generating Activities) in order to avoid financial dependency among members

To raise the standard of living among members and other people affected with the disease.

In order to achieve the above mention project - income generating activity, AJA will need a financial support to the amount of $ 30,000.00 to support members with to start their own business in order to be financially independent.

Also to avoid spreading the disease.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

INTRODUCTION

Alpha Joy Association (AJA), is an association of People Living with HIV (PLWH) based in Ashaiman Municipality - Ghana. The association is registered with the Register General under the Laws of Ghana, and has it affiliation with SWAA, NAPLAS and others. AJA has membership of 45 women. AJA members meet once in the month (last Saturday each month) to discuss about their health, and encourage one another to know that they are not alone.

OBJECTIVE

With the danger associated with HIV resistance strains and spreading of the pandemic, the association has among other objective to improve upon the health delivery of members and others. The association has it objective as follows;

1. To empower members economically to continue or start with:

 Trade in order to cater for themselves and their families
 Medication (ARV’S) in order not to default due to financial difficulties

2. To keep on educate members:

 To avoid unprotected sex
 To avoid too much sex
 Not to taking alcohol & alcohol beverages
 Not to smoke cigarette & others
 Take medication, the ARV’S on time
 Avoid spreading the disease intentionally

MISSION

The association’s mission is to improve, prolong and enhance lives of PLWH through economic empowerment (Income Generating Activities) in order to avoid financial dependency among members

Our vision is to reduce the rate of HIV/AIDS infection prevalence in Ashaiman Municipality, Ghana and Sub-Sahara Africa as a whole.
