Lawrence Zikusoka, Founder and Director of ICT for Development of Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) speaks about the role of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) for conservation and development in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in southwestern Uganda on the BBC’s Go Digital Program on Tuesday, January 31, 2006.
This follows the recent t4cd conference on Conservation and Appropriate Technology he attended held at the Microsoft Research Centre, Cambridge, UK, supported by Fauna and Flora International, Resource Africa and Vodafone Group Foundation.
Lawrence’s interview on Go Digital, the BBC World Service’s flagship technology program, will provide viewers with a special opportunity to learn more about the first sustainable telecentre that is helping to safeguard endangered mountain gorillas and improve human health, while creating opportunities for the Bwindi local community and small enterprises that support an emerging ecotourism industry.
