The Business
Biodiesel is an environmentally-friendly fuel produced from renewable resources , and can be used in diesel engines with no modifications. Biodiesel is biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics. Biodiesel's power is similar to that of petroleum diesel fuel
My customers need an altenative cheap diesel which will not require a modification in their engines. I produce Biodiesel which I sell to them at 20% cheaper than a pump price and create a clean enviroment.
I produce Biodiesel from purshasing and collecting Waste Vegetable Oil from restaurants, hotels, food street vendors, food catering companies and shopping malls, through chemical process called transesterification, whereby glycerin is separated from fat or vegetable oil through the addition of an alcohol and catalyst. We produce biodiesel which has been approved by the Government Chemist Laboratory of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
Mafuta Sasa is setting up joint ventures with Garage owners to be distribution centers for city buses, we have established an agreements with hotels and building owners who will be getting a certain numbers of liters every week or every month. We are planning of having selling points with gas stations in the future who will be our agents.
Mafuta Sasa is selling its biodiesel to city bus transporters, buildings owners, and construction firms. There are more than 75,000 local city buses, the average building in Dar es Salaam consume approximately 20,000 liters of diesel per week during periods of high rationing. When the grid is providing more reliable electricity, hotels consume an average of 4,000 liters a week. We are setting up small distribution centers all over the city.
After doing an extensive research, we found out that Mafuta Sasa don't have direct competitors because it is the only company in East Africa producing Biodiesel. All biofuel companies in Tanzania are growing renewable resources plants and most of them are planning to export crude oil. My indirect competitors are petroleum diesel sellers especially filling stations.
My competitive advantages; Mafuta Sasa produces biodiesel from local sources to replace the environmentally harmful and expensive petroleum diesel. Mafuta Sasa sell its biodiesel at 20% cheaper than diesel.
The process of making the biodiesel is innovative because waste vegetable oil is purchased and collected from local hotels and restaurants and recycled to biodiesel through a chemical process called transesterification, whereby glycerin is separated from fat or vegetable oil through the addition of an alcohol and a catalyst. Mafuta Sasa Biodiesel is suitable for use in any diesel engine or generator.
Mafuta Sasa will ensure the growth of its business by working hard with qualified and enthusiastic partners and employees. Tanzania is totally dependent on the import of petroleum products for its diesel fuel supply. Today, there are seventy (70) international oil marketing companies that market and distribute refined petroleum products in Tanzania and Mafuta Sasa is the first and only company producing biodiesel.

Development
Petroleum diesel is harmful to both the environment and to human health in many ways. Mafuta Sasa produce Biodiesel by recycling waste vegetable oil and produce Biodiesel which is inexpensive, domestically-produced, and environmentally friendly, its biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics. environmental risks are high in a country such as Tanzania where diesel engines are operating in close proximity to people.
