All Products will use the harvest in season, produced by Community based livelihood initiatives for the Indigenous Peoples of Bukidnon, Balingasag and Misamis Oriental.

What customer need/problem do your products/services satisfy?

The need for the safe food and right nutrition our body needs to keep us healthy, at an affordable price, accessible nationwide, and being able to help the needy as they nourish themselves.

How will you make the product/service?

A few basic products is to be supplied by the Soup of the Day Kiosk Operation. Other products to be developed by the partners depending on the seasonality and availability or what can be grown in their locality. The products will be approved and royalty is due to the partner community based livelihood, in this case for the kiosk operation Joint Venture with the community, if it will be sold in other kiosk operation in the country.

Explain how you will sell your product/service (marketing strategy) and how you will reach your customers (distribution strategy)?

For a pilot Joint Venture with a school in Mindanao to hone a new breed of Entrepreneurs, the products are to be sold in Schools having its students the target market through a kiosk operation. In its four campuses, four kiosk will be operated.

The students will go through all phases of the business under the supervision of Soup of the Day as they immerse themselves with the source of their ingredients, another marketing strategy angle.

To whom are you selling, what is your market?

For a pilot Joint Venture with a school in Mindanao to hone a new breed of Entrepreneurs, the products are to be sold in Schools having its students the target market through a kiosk operation. In its four campuses, four kiosk will be operated.

The main campus has 10,000 students and there are other three campuses.

Plus the market other than students, which will be catered by Soup of the Day, particularly in Cagayan de Oro City.

Describe your competitors?

Competitors are the employee cooperative of the School who operates at the canteens. There are also other food kiosks operation.

What makes your business different/better than your competitors (competitive advantage)?

The usual food available elsewhere does not give attention to safety and nutritional value of the food being sold. SOD Joint Venture with the Student Entrepreneur will do nutrition analysis.

What makes your business, your product or service innovative?

Our product will use the harvest of a community based livelihood creating a steady market for the IPs as it addresses the health and nutrition requirement of the student.
It looped all stakeholders to one simple business cycle, taking care of one another to ensure sustainability and profitability while services of business professional is just an arm length.
This business is to be rolled out in other community based livelihood across the country

How will you ensure the growth of your business?

The growth is ensured through collaboration with other support group and networks other than operating the kiosk professionally.

The Entrepreneur & Management

Describe the entrepreneur & management

Business is run on a Social Entrepreneurship Model, with advocacy partnered with technical know how and professional individuals taking part in the operation.

Management of SOD deals with the Social Outreach Body of the School and the Joint Venture becomes the Student Entrepreneurship Program. The Board will be created for this Joint Venture coming from Soup of the Day, the School and the Student Council.

What specifically makes you and (if relevant) your management team most qualified to build this business?

Soup of the Day was conceptualized and put in operation that it has been tested and still improving its system but is open to partnership to realize its vision. Group of Professionals are involve and available when the service is needed.

We have all the resources, technical know how and experiences to make this project a success. We are all Social Entrepreneurs and we work only with business initiatives if it is community based.

How much time do/will you expect to spend per week in the business?

For the first four months of the project, my entire full time is needed since I am the key person in charge. first two months 108 hrs ; next two months 264 hrs; next 8 mos 176 hrs, then another cycle.

Development

How does your business improve the local living standards (social and environmental)?

First, it creates sustainable organic farming livelihood of the Indigeneous Peoples community as it creates jobs and business for them.
The students on the otherhand, learn social entrepreneurship addressing the major social problems in their community and environment while at the same time earning money as they enjoy the food.
