Register as a coach or expert

A coach

supports an SME entrepreneur in an emerging market on a one-to-one basis to write a business plan. Coaches work on a volunteer basis and support takes place online. An entrepreneur who has indicated his or her need for a coach and whose application meets the BiD Network assessment criteria is eligible for coaching.

A coach:

• contributes on average 20 hours during a 3 month period.
• can choose when to start coaching (the start of the 3 month period is flexible).
• speaks, reads and writes English, and preferably also Spanish or French;
• selects an entrepreneur who needs their expertise online.
• has the ability to be a motivator, sparring partner or gateway to knowledge and expertise for the entrepreneur;
• has knowledge of business development, financial planning or marketing and sales;
• has proven affinity with development issues and developing countries;
• has a personal or professional interest in small business development (SME) in developing countries.
• A coach is affiliated to a partner of the BiD Network or to a National partner and is accredited by the BiD Network.

An Expert

supports the BiD Network with specific or in-depth expertise and second opinions during business plan assessment. They can also provide expertise to coaches. If you are interested in supporting the BiD Network as an expert, please check if you fit the expert profile first.

An expert:

• contributes on average 6 hours per year to the BiD Network.
• commits at least 16 hours per year to give second options (3 hours) or answer specific questions on an irregular basis.
• responds within a agreed time to a request for a second opinion.
• An expert works on a volunteer basis
• An expert has specific knowledge of a business segment, financial planning or marketing and sales;
• is affiliated to a partner of the BiD Network or to a National partner and is accredited by the BiD Network.
