Mr. Hugh Sinclair, Micro Finance expert with focus in Latin America

Hugh Sinclair is an economist by training, and began his professional career as an investment banker at Barclays in the UK and Canada. Post-MBA Hugh earned the dubious fate of becoming the last ever employee at Enron, and in early 2002 he started to work in the broad microfinance sector in Mexico, Mozambique, Argentina and the Netherlands. He worked with microfinance funds, rating agencies, consulting boutiques, a number of individual MFIs, a peer-to-peer platform, an IT provider to the microfinance sector and increasingly in investment advisory work for companies and HNW individuals. Hugh is head of Business Development at Micro Service Consult, a consulting boutique to the microfinance, SME-finance and renewable energy sectors, based in Asuncion and Frankfurt. His next assignment is in Mongolia, and in 2010 he is moving to back Argentina with his wife Jessica.

Mr. Jorge Lomonaco, Mexican Ambassador to The Netherlands

Mr. Ambassador Jorge Lomaco was born in Mexico City in 1963, and joined the Mexican Foreign Service in 1991. From 1995 to 2000 he held different positions at the Mexican Embassies in London and in Washington DC. In the latter he served as Chief of the Mexican Embassy’s Consular Liaison Office. On December 2000 he was posted as Chief of Cabinet to Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and on November 2002 as Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs (Oficial Mayor) also in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2003 to 2007, he served as Consul General in Miami. In July 2007 he was designated as Mexico’s Ambassador to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the International Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
