BiD Network's most recently released publication provides all the information necessary to plan, manage and exit from an investment between USD50,000 to USD2 million in an SME in Mexico.
The guide is available in English and Spanish. Below you can find more information about this guide.
The environment for SMEs in Mexico is undergoing important changes. Most banks offer SME-specific credit products for both fixed assets and working capital, however long-term credit is still very restricted. Public and private sector initiatives have sprung up in recent years which are aimed at increasing access to finance and non-financial business development services. Changes in legislation to protect minority shareholder rights have made it easier to invest in SMEs.
Despite these changes, investments in SMEs in Mexico are still limited by a lack of information and thus a high perception of risk. “Investing in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Mexico 2009” aims to address this knowledge gap, by providing all the information necessary to plan, manage and exit from an investment between USD50,000 to USD2 million in an SME in Mexico.
The guide gives insight into the financing options and other incentives available for SMEs and investors in these companies. Learn which funds are currently investing in SMEs in Mexico, which credit products are available, and what investors think about the regulatory climate. Read an interview with the company that structured the first SME listing on the Mexican stock exchange, learn how business angel networks work in the Mexican context, how pension funds can play an even greater role in promoting the growth of SMEs and hear from SMEs themselves on their experiences.
