Price hike of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is gradually getting up day by day. Micro nutrient and soil fertility deteriorates drastically because there are indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. In a mission towards a sustainable future I prepare a business plan on "BIO FERTILIZER" that will stimulate the whole community of the respective area and to create maximum Green Jobs in Green Business in rural Bengal.

The Business

What is your product/service?

Using locally available west material technologically produced the product BIO FERTILIZER that is totally echo-friendly and world class packing to be made for end users followed by total quality management. The product will be certified by the state agricultural university and ISO standard will be maintained by the approved concerned certifying authority in regular course of action

What customer need/problem do your products/services satisfy?

Present customer perception is, price hike of chemical fertilizers and pesticides gradually getting up day by day. Micro nutrient and soil fertility deteriorates drastically. BIO FERTILIZER is cheap & safe.

How will you make the product/service?

Green and soft plant residues, organic farm wastes, cattle dung and some specified medicinal plants which may be harmful in common existence but useful when fed in pits that are placed in a specially designed pit. The pit should moist at a regular interval and kept covered. Turning of decomposing material to ensure aeration for microbial decomposition is necessary. End product will be proved and tested in our testing laboratory.

Explain how you will sell your product/service (marketing strategy) and how you will reach your customers (distribution strategy)?

The product is related to focus on competitive market-based strategies that are the regular involvement of soil scientist to maintain global standards. Since long awareness programs on soil health are going on within the project area and 3500 farmers joined this social business project as stakeholder. Home delivery will be made within the distribution area as because the product will produce in the same area.

To whom are you selling, what is your market?

My primary target customers are marginal and small farmers that is 6000 farmers. I have already made a network of 3500 farmers having above two acre of irrigated land. Customers are getting hand holding awareness programs on sustainable agriculture, rain water harvesting, bio manure, bio fertilizer and non- conventional energy. At present the ready market size of bio fertilizer are USD 171429 in the area.

Describe your competitors?

Competitors are multinationals like giant chemical fertilizer producers and their lobby is so much stronger though they may not able to sale their products in remote corner of India. And even they frequently exploit our illiterate farmers. By any means they are using unethical commodities to the farmers as gifts to gear up their market for hazardous chemical fertilizers without caring environmental laws of the country.

What makes your business different/better than your competitors (competitive advantage)?

Product is different that of my fair business attitude like discloses of better NPK and micro nutrient percentage compare to chemical fertilizers with the hand holding support of State authorities.

What makes your business, your product or service innovative?

Following Total Quality Management will meet global standard and get full support of 3500 farmers, State Agricultural University, HUMAN Network INDIA (service provider), 25 social entrepreneurs, 28 work force, 3500 farmers and 8000 BPL members of SHGs (supplier of Raw material) are to be involved within the green community project with discloses of NPK & Micro Nutrients compare to conventional fertilizers .

How will you ensure the growth of your business?

Spreading farmers network in regular course of action through hand holding awareness program on rain water harvesting, regular soil test, bio fertilizer, vermi compost, bio gas, use of solar energy, multicroping culture and thus organic farming with the support of State Agricultural University. Local Government and HUMAN Network INDIA has ensure me to help the project in every business concern as I committed to change the livelihoods of the area.

Educated 25 social entrepreneurs and local Govt. are in a PPP model within PC Act of Govt of India.
The management teamwork of same entrepreneurs are TQM oriented.
As required in today's market demand the team will work for the green business that are related to the focus of competitive market based strategies.
Having diploma in small business management and other business related certificates I will work as CEO for next three years

What specifically makes you and (if relevant) your management team most qualified to build this business?

After completion of six weeks ESDP-BIO-FERTILIZER, the 25 educated youths will go through one years BIO-FERTILIZER training program with a management specialization of Procurement, Production & Packing (13 out of 25), sustainable Finance (2 out of 25), HRD & Networking (1 out of 25), TQM/ISO-9000 (1 out of 25), Carpet Marketing (7 out of 25, Communication, Documentation & Media (1 out of 25). They are all from the targeted community

How much time do/will you expect to spend per week in the business?

I will dedicate 40 hours per week in this social green business project Brand "PIFA" BIO FERTILIZER with my heart and soul as the other people do follow the project accordingly.

Development

How does your business improve the local living standards (social and environmental)?

My social green business project is more employment oriented and that has been linked directly with 80% of 15 village people of targeted area. Peoples participation in the hazards chemical free business and livelihood changing program through non formal action education in rain water harvesting, vermi compost, non conventional energy, ITC in local language and uses of local resources appropriately are in action for income generating program .
