Camfruit, is an improved Fruit Drying Plant in partnership with farmers to produce organic dry fruit by international standards

In Developing Countries, Agriculture is the backbone of most economies and a pillar for development. The fight against poverty passes through industrialisation of agriculture which is lacking in our Country. Some major problems are post-harvest lost (60 %) due to lack of small enterprises in fruits processing and poverty a hindrance for economic development.

What is your product/service?

CamFruit will Dried Organic papaya,pineapple,banana,mangoes . fruit will be packed individuallyand mixed.Camfruit and its network don't use chemical products,thereby assuring consumers delicious,nutritious value,true fruit taste.
Harvesting:Camfruit co-manager will monitor this activity .
Labour:Cam Fruit management network includes a General Manager, Technical manager, comanager,Quality control manager,supported by a team of 20 people

What customer need/problem do your products/services satisfy?

The dried fruit will be packaged and commercialise to our customers/distributors in Europe or in the USA.
Target Market:European market, so as the US market show more interest in exotic pure fruits

stages of production:
cultivation,harvesting,picking,packing,transportation,drying, packaging,market
To produce1kg dried fruits we need 14kg fresh fruit. Wet plans per month three tons and eight hundred kg of dried fruits.55 tons of fresh fruit is required.
Processes:Equipment:dryers,tractor,basins,vacuum sealer,balance,At the unit, picking, washed, peeled,sliced drying.thickness of sliced fresh fruit 10mm,drying time 17 hours.

Explain how you will sell your product/service (marketing strategy) and how you will reach your customers (distribution strategy)?

Different stages of production:
cultivation,harvesting,picking, transportation, drying, picking, packaging,commercialisation.
To produce 1 kg of dried fruits we need 14 kg fresh fruit.
Harvesting, :To ensure quality of our finished products we have to follow all the processes up.
Processes:dryers,tractor,basins,vacuum sealer,balance,small utensils.picking,washed, peeled, sliced,drying. the thickness is 10mm,drying time 17 hours,

Commercialisation
The dried fruit will be packaged and commercialise it to our customers/distributors in Europe or in USA.

Our advantage include the distance from Cameroon to Europe(reduced shipping duration) on the other hand the duty free advantage of AGOA, the technical state of our installation in network plus the central unit of Cam Fruit and also with our solid network with buyers.

respect of quality and international norms make our products unique. Obtain organic Fair Trade Certificate,Good quality, good packaging, attractive designs. taste, colour, flavour and nutritive values

What makes your business, your product or service innovative?

What makes my business different it can be copied to another region of Cameroon, or Africa. My company is a structure that Integrate a circuit, which uses two sources of energy: the sun and gas. It is even possible that long term we use the gas produced by ourselves from Bio gas (biomass). The culture of our products is natural. We use traditional cultural methods to ensure healthy populations producer, consumer while protecting the environment

How will you ensure the growth of your business?

To increase the growth of our company, we will first years to work very hard to achieve our goals; the second find other sources of financing to increase investment. It will be possible to consider at that time a bank loan to reinvest in the project. We will ensure regular training / retraining of small producers on cultivation methods and workers of the processing plant through training management.

Coming from an Cameroonian rural background, I developed an immense appreciation for agriculture. Consequently, I attended Training and Research Centres in agro-food processing in France, Burkina-Faso, China, Cameroon, since 1999 where I gained knowledge on:
Transformation and conservation of fruits
Construction of drying equipment
Seminar, quality control
Seminar/conferences on marketing opportunity for Dried fruits

What specifically makes you and (if relevant) your management team most qualified to build this business?

The respect of quality and international norms make our products unique. Obtain and maintain organic Fair Trade Certificate for our products, I will insist on advertisement
Good quality, good packaging, and attractive designs. I will equal insist on the taste, colour, flavour and nutritive values which makes our consumers to enjoy our products

How much time do/will you expect to spend per week in the business?

I will spend my entire week in managing my business

Development

How does your business improve the local living standards (social and environmental)?

Cam Fruit will work in partnership with already created association and GIC(community groups) and has been monitoring their activity for more than 4 years. The development impact of our company will be socio-economic and environmental.

1-socio economic impact:
-creation of employment in the community.
- Improve farmers’ incomes, educations, health care,
- Improve community and family stabilization
- Reduce cities overpopulation
