Share People
Share People is supporting partner of the BiD Challenge 2007, for our objectives are closely connected. Share People cooperates with the Dutch corporate sector to contribute to poverty reduction in developing countries. Not by donating money, but by temporarily sending Dutch professionals to small, local companies that have a wish to develop in a sustainable way. Share People offers a diverse range of programmes, e.g. a two week Group Exchange with managers/entrepreneurs from different companies or a more specific programme designed for companies that aim at implementing CSR in their business. For more information, have a look at our website: www.sharepeople.nl.
Our role in the BiD Challenge
Share People adds value to the BiD Challenge 2007 through its contacts in India, Kenya, Peru, the Philippines and Ethiopia, but also throuh her network of Share People's Ambassadors in the Netherlands. Furthermore, it offers 'Coach Visits' to Dutch companies (for more information please contact BiD Challenge), which employees are joining as screeners & coaches in the BiD Challenge.
- Participants of exchanges are being stimulated to spot relevant business opportunities and to develop and send these plans, together with Southern partners, to the BiD Challenge.
- Share People Ambassadors, who have already experienced the dynamics of market oriented poverty reduction during an exchange, will become BiD coaches.
- Sreeners or coaches from the BiD Challenge could join in exchanges, as a next step.
- BiD Challenge entrepreneurs could ask for assistence via Share People after/during the BiD Challenge to help them realise their business plans.
Our partners
Share People is an organisation which caters to specific demands. We only take action on concrete requests and business cases of NGO’s and companies in developing countries. Our work is in conjunction with local partners. These are mainly descended from the network of our partners ICCO and the BiD Challenge.
The surplus value for local parties
Through Share People the local parties obtain knowledge, experience and contacts, which they don’t have access to themselves. Share People has a large network comprised of multinational companies as well as small and medium enterprises and also self-employed entrepreneurs. With the help of these organisations we have at our disposal experienced all-round managers and professional specialists in the field of marketing, ICT and finance. We don’t exchange people just to quickly ‘solve’ a business case, but also to ‘share’ experience. By working with Share People, local parties learn about new commercial strategies and the possibilities of market expansion. During a Group Exhange the Dutch participants and the local managers are supervised by a senior learning manager of De Baak on their learning goals.
Selecting, matching, organising and inspiring
Not only the local organisations benefit from this exchange, but also the Dutch participants. They are given the opportunity to use their talents in a challenging, unfamiliar environment. They learn how to think outside-the-box and to put their ideas into practice. People learn from people!
Share People's programmes
Share People organises three different types of exchanges: Developing Countries, Developing Leaders programme, Expert Programmes and Tailor Made Programmes. In Developing Countries, Developing Leaders, participants from different Dutch companies explore the dynamics of emerging markets and the role of the market within the field of poverty reduction. In addition, they work together with local organisations on a business case. This process of learning is facilitated by a senior learning manager from the management development centre de Baak. Expert Programme involve a local organisation and a Dutch participant working together on a specific business case over a period of a few months. The Dutch participant can opt to enlist the supervision of de Baak. On request we organise Tailor Made Programs for companies, like for example, an exchange specially organised for investors.
