In Tanzania Agriculture contributes about 80% of GDP. However, most of the agriculture is subsistence. With adequate resources, management, modern technologies you can revolutionize production, create employment and increase income thus contribute to poverty alleviation in Tanzania which is one of the objective of MKUKUTA (Poverty Reduction Strategy). I believe agriculture, crop and livestock keeping, is the solution to poverty and food security problems in the developing countries. Whereas it is risky because of climatic complications and resource constraints, but proper management, expertise and abundance of natural resources in Tanzania (land, water, fish and livestock) brighten the prospects for success in agri-business. Value-addition in lucrative agricultural products also broadens the market options. This is my motivation for venturing into agri-business.
