Nuru East Africa Ltd.

We select, and train a network of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs). Each VLE is linked with an MFI to receive a loan of lights, along with one POWERCycle pedal generator. The VLE sells the $6 lights to people in his/her community and then customers return every ~7 days to have their light recharged for just $0.17. The result is over $3 per hour income for the VLE and an 85% savings in lighting costs for the customers.
