Sustainable biomass cooking stoves, like the TLUD ND (Top Lid Up Draft Natural Draft) should be seriously examined as possible replacements for charcoal cooking stoves in developing societies. To optimise the use of any type of dry Biomass as cooking fuel, from both forestry (tree plantations) and agriculture, including the whole chain from residue in the forest/field to the combustion of biomass in a modern TLUD stove and CHP plants.
