Acuisur is a Peruvian firm with global reach that harvests and processes seaweed for various industrial applications. Its operations take place along the Peruvian coast and are 100% sustainable, contributing to the repopulation of the overexploited seaweed bed. Acuisur’s business plan was one of the winners of the BiD Challenge Peru 2010 for its innovative implementation of biotechnologies and establishment of a new industry. The company was founded in 2009 by two renowned scholars from Peru after devoting more than 10 years to research and study of seaweed properties. Currently, Acuisur’s team consists of professionals with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of seaweed farming, product development and global trade. Besides providing raw materials for different industries such as food, textiles, animal farming, cosmetics and chemicals, Acuisur has also established partnerships with Neotex Industrial S.A. and BioPencil™ for the development of value-added products with an environmental impact.
