Bulemezi Rice and Wheat Growers Cooperative Society Limited is an agricultural farming cooperastive society registered in Uganda under the Cooperative Act in 1979. The Society has 500 registered members and is located in Luwero District of Uganda about 60 km north of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, along Kampala-Gulu/Masindi highway. It was one of the best societies in early 80s, but owing to the bush war of the 1980-86 that was staged in the jungles of Luwero and which was code-named Luwero triangle, the Society was not spared but was destroyed with all its accumulated assets including its rice processing plant and vehicles in addition to some of the Society members that succumbed their lives to the war, to mention just a few!Until recently, the members that servived with those born recently within and after the war, reoganized and reactivated the Society about five years back. Thank you for the peace previling that accorded us a peaceful environment to resume our work, and also it was an opportunity that we remained with our Society registration certificate and our titled land as big as 120.9 Hectares and the will!

Presently, we are cultivating general agricultural crops for domestic sale and consumption, but we have diversfied to produce horticultural crops for export to European Union (EU) market.

We are seeking for partnership/investors with whom we may go agricultural/horticultural farming for export and export business together, especially as we need to export to EU market and elsewhere globally as need may arise from time to time.

In addition, our priority programme includes food processing, especially to import a potato chips/Snack food processing plant, process and parkage the crops and export the same to EU countries and elsewhere, where there is need for such parked sweet potato chips/irish potato chips and other crops in that category for export globally.
Among the immediate activities we want to undertake include farming as said above develop an irrigation scheme to fight drought and flooding conditions, establish a demonstration/model farm to assist training of small holder farmers and outgrowers, import and install the processing machinery, building storate, purchase cold-storage-transport facility for transporting fresh fruits/vegetables to Entebbe Airport for onward air-exportation to distinations, etc.
