NCDO, the Dutch National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development, is the founder of BiD Network Foundation and initiated the BiD Challenge. NCDO was a main partner till 2010.

NCDO is an independent, neutral organisation uniquely embedded and positioned in Dutch society. NCDO’s aim is to strengthen and highlight public support in the Netherlands for international cooperation and sustainable development. www.ncdo.nl provides more information about the organisation and its programmes.

NCDO’s Business in Development programme

Reducing poverty while making a profit, NCDO thinks it is possible. NCDO’s Business in Development programme inspires Dutch companies to engage in sustainable business in developing countries. Dutch companies play an important role in the world economy. Developing countries offer plenty of entrepreneurial opportunities. Through sustainable trade and investments, companies have a direct and indirect positive impact on the economies of the developing world.

Therefore, the NCDO (National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development) is targeting the business sector with its Business in Development programme. By using practical examples, this programme inspires Dutch companies to do sustainable business in developing countries.

A business plan competition for Dutch entrepreneurs with ambitions in Africa, Asia or South America. Deadline is September 1st 2010. NCDO organizes this competition with BiD Network.

The Millennium Development Goal Scan (MDG Scan) allows companies to estimate their positive impact on the MDG’s in developing countries.

This is a design award for the best Dutch Design with a positive impact in developing countries.
