Changing the world can be very simple! You can, for example, prepare a delicious meal from Fair Trade Original products — or buy a marvellous gift, or brew an aromatic cup of coffee. At the same time you will also be doing something valuable for the people in Africa, Asia or Latin America who make the products. This is the conviction of Fair Trade Original, the organization which is synonymous with trade that develops.
Fair Trade Original, incorporated in 1959, is the founder of development trade — an initiative which has since been adopted all over the world. Development trade ensures that products made by farmers, craftsmen and companies with an appropriate social policy gain access to the export markets. This in turn creates employment that increases the prosperity of the people involved, their villages and, on occasion, of the entire region. And on the other side of the world we also develop ourselves as we change from indiscriminate buyers into socially-aware consumers.

Farmers and other producers in developing countries supply high-quality products to Fair Trade Original. Fair Trade Original, in collaboration with organizations in the countries of origin, makes every effort to ensure that the products are compatible with the needs of European consumers. For this reason the producers receive information and training courses relating to new trends and developments in food safety, knowledge that would otherwise remain inaccessible to them. Fair Trade Original buys the products under fair trade terms and conditions, and offers the producers support in product development, production methods, logistics, and marketing.
Fair Trade Original is one of the initiators of the Max Havelaar Seal of Approval, a procedure which verifies that business is conducted in accordance with stringent guidelines.
Fair Trade Original is of the opinion that modern consumption is responsible consumption. Fair Trade Original offers you the easiest and most agreeable way of making your contribution to changing the world.
