Argidius Foundation
Argidius Foundation is an Investment Partner of the BiD Challenge 2007 and earmarked 30,000 euro for investment in BiD Challenge entrepreneurs with plans in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
Founded in 1956, the Argidius Foundation has since 1992 explicitly followed a strategy of support for international, market-driven, business development initiatives to alleviate poverty, with a current focus on the creation of sustainable employment “plus” for the poor in developing countries.
Investment Partners will only invest in participants of the BiD Challenge. So join the BiD Challenge 2007!
Criteria for Funding
The Argidius Foundation funds projects and organisations that meet at least the following eligibility criteria;
- Potential for employment creation
- Cost effectiveness
- Potential for sustainability, and
- Potential for poverty alleviation
Other aspects that are important for the Argidius Foundation include:
- Innovation
- Scalability
- Sound exit strategy
- Experience of implementing organization and soundness of approach
- Social and or environmental benefits
- Inclusion of partnerships beneficial for project implementation
- Possibility of leveraging Argidius Foundation’s funding.
Any submission for the Argidius Foundation will have to describe in detail the strategy and activities that will create sustainable employment, address the above criteria, and include projected results for the next three (03) years of the project for the indicators in the attached document.
