As result of the quality-plans that come forward during the several BiD Challenges held in the past three years and the online assessment procedure, BiD Network has built up a growing global network of like-minded investors interested in the deal-flow generated by the Foundation’s activities. Contrary to classic investment funds, the investment partners of BiD Network are prepared to invest relatively small amounts and appreciate positive social and environmental returns in addition to the financial returns.
As of December 2007, BiD Network set up a structured service for Investor Matchmaking. The department is headed by Nils de Witte, former co-director of Nebib, one of the largest business angel network in the Netherlands, counts with a team of matchmakers based in Amsterdam, as well as trained matchmakers in the 10 focus countries where BiD Network has accredited representatives.
On average, about 2% of the initial submissions received by BiD Network is eligible to become a BiD Grade Plan. BiD Grade Plans are high quality propositions that come forward through the assessment procedure, have been prepared to be investment ready, and are seeking finance between USD 10.000 and 1 million. Presently there are over 40 entrepreneurs with a BiD Grade Plan. Full fledged business plans and other confidential information of these entrepreneurs are available from BiD Investor Matchmaking, after signing an Investor Agreement with BiD Network.
