Unilever and Oxfam to discuss their Indonesian collaboration

London, February 14, 2006 — For two years, Unilever has allowed Oxfam to probe and analyse the socio-economic impacts of its activities in Indonesia, where it sells soap, soy sauce, ice cream and mosquito coils to consumers, more than half of whom live on less than $2 a day.

At Ethical Corporation’s conference on Business-NGO partnerships on March 28-29 2006, Unilever and Oxfam will reveal what they have learned from working together.

You will also gain valuable insights from some of the world’s most innovative partnerships including:

• Age Concern and Innocent Drinks whose “Supergran??? initiative is raising funds for the elderly through a novel knitting programme

• Kellogg’s and education charity ContinYou, who have worked together since 1997 to promote breakfast clubs

• Ikea and UNICEF, who have partnered to eliminate child labour in India

This conference will be an opportunity for benchmarking existing partnerships, and learning from best practice examples. Plus there’s plenty of networking time for future partners.
