IBM To Help Startups In Emerging Markets

IBM unveiled an initiative to help startups the emerging markets of Brazil, China, India and Russia to develop products around standards-based technology.

In addition, the Armonk, N.Y., company announced the formation of the Venture Capital Advisory Council that would work with IBM to acceleration technology development in those countries, as well as other emerging markets.

As part of the initiative, IBM plans to roll out more than 40 online workshops through it Virtual Innovation Center to help developers and independent software vendors go to market with their applications faster and cheaper, the company said.
