Business and the Millennium Development Goals
More than 200 international business leaders, government and
civil society representatives gathered at New York University
to take part in the 10th Annual International Business Forum.
Entitled "Business and the Millennium Development Goals: An
Active Role for Globally Responsible Companies," participants
discussed ways in which business contributes to development,
including industry specific approaches and new forms of
business models. The event, hosted by International Capacity
Building, the World Bank Institute, the United Nations Global
Compact and Instituto Ethos, was the first major conference on
private-sector contributions to the Millennium Development
Goals.
