The BiD Network launched on January 5th 2006
The BiD Network the world's first on-line community for entrepreneurship and development was launched on the 5th of January 2006. The NCDO's Business in Development programme took the initiative. The BiD Network has 1600 members.
After having launched the successful BiD Challenge (Business Plan competition for poverty reduction and profit) in 2005 with over 1600 registered members and 800 submitted plans, we realised that these participants want to meet eachother and share information. The BiD network was built to be a meeting point and facilitate the sharing of information between entrepreneurs for development.
The BiD Network is an initiative of the NCDO´s Business in Development programme (see: www.ncdo.nl).
