The Business

What is your product/service?

The product is a waterproof block made from poly waste. the product can be cut or model according to customer preference, be it size, thickness, shape and design.

What customer need/problem do your products/services satisfy?

Accra in particular is a low lying area with a high water table. Most homes in Accra are facing fungi coloration on their buildings and walls, virtually corroding the walls. This product will solve the problem

How will you make the product/service?

There are two main ingredients; waste rubber and fine sand. The ratio of rubber and sand is 2:1.

The rubber will be put in an enclosed incinerator and when melted, the sieved fine sand will be introduced and stirred to mix. After the mixing, the mass (paste) will be discharged into a mode / cast and left to cool under a room temperature taking about 1-2 hours depending on thickness and size.

Explain how you will sell your product/service (marketing strategy) and how you will reach your customers (distribution strategy)?

My product will be sold to customers after demonstration work with the Ghana Real Estate Development Association (GREDA) a building association in Ghana. Since i know the high water table areas in Ghana and Accra in particular, a demonstration site (house) will be chosen where waterproof block will be used so that customers can identify with the product.

An online selling point will be established to serve international customers as well.

To whom are you selling, what is your market?

My market is contractors in the building industry as well as individuals who will need my product to solve their water problem.

Describe your competitors?

My competitors include all producers of cement block, and brick makers. These are traditional producers of building blocks, roofing tiles and pavement blocks

What makes your business different/better than your competitors (competitive advantage)?

My product is very different and unique because it is going to highly competitively solve a problem my competitors can't solve and comes with competitive cost as well.

What makes your business, your product or service innovative?

This will be the first time a water proof block from waste poly will come onto the market

How will you ensure the growth of your business?

Have plans of establishing waterproof in all 10 regions of Ghana so as to make use of poly waste in those regions at lower transportation cost.

Stringent financial principles will be put in place to ensure a continuous cash flow
