Event:

Developing Countries, Developing Leaders

Expanding horizons, building partnerships

What is the Developing Countries, Developing Leaders programme?
Many small and medium enterprises in developing countries run a good business, however they feel there are some issues hindering them from reaching their full potential. In most cases, what these enterprises need is not money, but knowledge. Share People finds Dutch Professionals who want to share their business knowledge with you and your company. In return, there is a lot to learn for them when they pay you, your country and your company a visit.

We've planned two programmes for 2008:
The Philippines: 25 October - 8 November 2008
Ethiopia: 8 - 21 November 2008

What to expect?
Preceding the Developing Countries, Developing Leaders programme, you submit your business case regarding logistical, financial, ICT, organisation-structural or marketing/communication matters within your company. Submitting your business case is done online. Share People will then screen your application. When the application meets certain criteria Share People will strive to find Dutch Professionals to match. The Dutch participants (3 - 5 persons) will participate in the Developing Countries, Developing Leaders programme for two weeks.

The first days of the programme you will get to know the group and learn about differences in habits and each other's expectations. Following you will work for 7 days in a team (4 to 6 persons) on your company's business case. In a ‘pressure cooker' situation the team will get to the core of the question, they will ask a lot of questions, they will speak with stakeholders and organise workshops to create an overview of the challenges.

After that the team will work on their consultation, SWOT analyses, business plans etc. Don't expect the team to come up with solutions after one week. They will however, help you set priorities, open doors, bring people together. These are important results as well. Presentations for the Management and a network meeting at the Dutch Ambassy will conclude The Developing Countries, Developing Leaders programme.

Partners Developing Countries, Developing Leaders
