As mentioned above, Suminter is involved in the Contract Production, processing, packaging and exports of Certified Organic Food and Fiber products. We have currently 15000 acres of Certified Land under our direct management and certification. We are currently working with over 3000 farmers in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Based on the market requirements, our Agro team prepares a crop plan in discussion and mutual consent with our farmers, at harvest time we procure these goods from our farmers and pay them a 10% premium over the conventional market prices. These goods are then processed and packaged as per international standards and exported to European and US based customers. Our farmer groups are currently certified organic by a third party certification agency , Skal International of The Netherlands and we are in the process of getting our project certified FAIR TRADE by FLO Germany

Suminter currently has a well established group of customers in Europe and the USA. Its’ customers’ business is growing at over 30-40% YOY, therefore a large part of marketing efforts will be to retain our existing customers and grow along with their businesses. On the customer acquisition strategies, Suminter will continue to participate in leading trade shows globally including the Biofach in Germany, Biofach in USA etc. Also our retail activities in India will start shortly where in we will start the distribution of our branded products in various hyper markets and supermarkets catering to the domestic market.

Our completely integrated approach, allows Suminter to capture a large part of the value chain by eliminating the middle men. This way we are able to provide value prices to our customers yet maintaining healthy margins for ourselves. This will continue to be our strategy and we will endeavor to meet 80% of our product requirements in house and balance 20% will be outsourced from other Organic Suppliers.

With a diverse range of products on offer, we are able to provide a one stop shop to our global customers. Our integrated approach allows us to price our products competitively and also our new R&D efforts to launch additional products under our brand will lead to a sustainable competitive advantage over new entrants in the business.

With over 4 years of experience in the Organic Trade, our business is now reached its inflexion point where our revenues and operations are expected to grow 5-6 fold in the current year. Learning is a continuous process, however, with our experience we are now able to mitigate large amounts of risks that we were exposed to in our initial days. Many a times during the initial stages of our venture, we were faced with internal conflicts on whether this would be a viable business? Whether the strategy we are pursuing is the correct one etc. however, due to our perseverance and dedication of our loyal team members we were able to meet all challenges which have come our way and continue to grow the business

As mentioned above, our company’s efforts have a triple bottom-line effect on the communities with whom we are working. The promotion of organic farming methods eliminates toxins and poisonous chemicals from the lives of the farmers and their families. Our fair trade practices ensure the farmers get a fair price for their products, the fair trade premium is used to uplift the communities by involving the farmers in the decision process of where the premium must be utilized so that there is a long term benefit to the communities involved. The premium prices that farmers get for their products ensure that there is a tremendous economic impact on their lives. Finally by promoting sustainable agriculture practices, the long term viability of agriculture is ensured. Suminter’s goal is to bring the farmers closer to a Zero Cost farming model wherein the risks of the farmers are brought down to a minimal and they are least dependent on external inputs for their farming activities
