Our Social Development Company "ConectaBolivia" has the goal to deploy a free WIMAX network with an average internet access to public services, like Hospitals, Fireman, Police and Public Schools.
The operation cost will be covered with higher bandwidth services to individuals and companies and advertising through the network .

The Business
The company will offer free wireless metropolitan area network (Wireless MAN) technology that provides broadband wireless connectivity to public services (Hospitals, Fireman, Police) and public schools. The free service will have a limited speed, around 100 kbps.
At the same time the company will offer paid WIMAX services to companies and individuals. This paid services will have a higher speed connectivity and we will offer IP telephony, webhosting and ICT consulting services in order to cover operational cost of the company.
Right now there are no service like this in my country and we want to take advantage that this company is focus on the social development of the city and country through the services it will offer. We want to connect to internet poor people and people with limited salaries. We plan to establish social internet cafes, that can give support and teach persons with no internet experience, how to use the internet
The network will have the chance be hired in order to advetise services and products from third companies, this income will be use to cover expenses.

The Entrepreneur & Management
The knowledge gain in my E-gov postgraduate course and my experience as IT & Marketing Consultant give me the confidence to set up this business. I believe the words of Muhammad Yunus, Peace Novel Prize 2006, that is time to create social business that don't show loss or gain. The best gain is the social recognition and see the happy faces of poor people. That is the best reward.
Development
ConectaBolivia will benefit all the public services and will help in the business procedures simplification and will also give an educational tool to thousands of students in public schools, that right now don't have internet access and knowledge.
At the same time the City Hall will benefit with a citiwide communications network, that can be use in emergencies, because conventional phones and cellphones crash when a disaster happens
