The Business

What is your product/service?

The business is to raise snails which are very expensive on the market and turn them into escagot and market them for profitability

Explain how you will sell your product/service (marketing strategy) and how you will reach your customers (distribution strategy)?

We shall market the products by packaging the snails into escargot for both local and international market.

Fortunately for us there is no competitors in this business. Our responsibilty lies in the fact that we should not be seen breaking in supplier.

What makes your business different/better than your competitors (competitive advantage)?

Our product is unique in the sense that:
1. students are going to be trained thereby curbing streetism and youth unemployment.

2. Escargot will be made easily accessible to communities which by reason of adverse climatic conditions does not have snails

The Entrepreneur & Management

Describe the entrepreneur & management

I hold a Certificate in Agriculture and have train farmers in the Central Region of Ghana when working with the Ministry of Agriculture (MOFA-Ghana) as Extension Officer in the year 1998-1999.

Apart fro that, i had engaged students in other farm establishment and also taught Agriculture in those schools on voluntarily basis.

Whiles in College (Kwadaso Agricultural College) i was the Animal Attache - In charge of the college's animals including snails and mushroom.

Development

How does your business improve the local living standards (social and environmental)?

The development impact of my company will among other things include Helping the government og Ghana by training graduates to make meaningful impact in society who will otherwise would have become social miscreants. The project will also make Ghana the centre of snail production in Africa iin the near future thereby increasing the foriegn exchange earning of the country as well as per capita income. Whiles doing this bush fires will drastically decrease in the sense that, hunters will no longer deliberate burn the bush in order to collect snails for sales

Enhancing fauna and flora

I have the passion for sustaining the natural preserve of fauna and flora especially in the rural areas where these natural settings are being eroded by the day. I have mapped out strategies to falstall further degradation of the environment through advocacy, education and lobbing

Education is key

People behave and act by their level of understanding. The more the individual understands, the better for him/her and society at large.
